Jessica is a seasoned, award-winning aerialist and movement artist seen performing for a wide variety of events around the nation. Jessica is the owner of the aerial training facility, Sora Aerial Arts (formerly Bella Forza), and artistic director of the professional entertainment company Sora Contemporary Circus located in Lexington, KY. Jessica is also an Aerial Arts Teacher Trainer with one of the most inspirational aerial theatre companies in the business, The Paper Doll Militia, and travels all over teaching their method. As an artist, Jessica is personally inspired by expressive art, energized by the process of creation, and motivated by the challenge of exploring original and unique movement patterns in the air.
Ashlee is an aerial and contortion artist based in Lexington, Kentucky. She practices a variety of movement arts in circus, dance, yoga, and rock climbing. She has developed acts on various aerial apparatus: silks, lyra, cube, and sling and has performed community, non-profit, corporate, and theatrical acts. Her love for movement and healthy lifestyle has led her to share her passion. You can typically find her in her home studio, Sora Aerial Arts, training and teaching.
Charity is a performer and instructor of aerial arts specializing in aerial silks, aerial hoop/lyra, and dance trapeze. Charity has trained under Jessica Jay Johnson and with many other professional aerial artists from across the country to expand and refine her skills in the aerial arts. To further her theoretical understanding of aerial arts she has completed aerial teacher training courses through NECCA and Spin City Aerials and currently teaches beginner though advanced level aerial students. She has performed aerial acts in many local productions and a variety of events across the region. She has also has enjoyed the competition side of performing and won 1st place in the Advanced Lyra category at the 2015 Aerial Expo.
Courtney has been practicing pole dance for 6 years now. She has been partaking in pole dance competitions for the past 3 years and in that time has won multiple regional and international championship titles. A natural born performer, Courtney loves the shine of the limelight and enjoys being the center of attention.
Lis Sanchez had been a part of Sora’s since 2014. She was the Wicked Witch in our production, Wizard of Oz and the antagonist Lorelei in our original production, Utopia. She enjoys collecting unique apparatus such as: chains, pocket lyras and nets. She is our resident mermaid!
Paloma began performing at the age of 7 with Bluegrass Youth Ballet. She quickly became passionate about performing arts. She was a ballet major at SCAPA from grade 7-12. Upon graduating, she decided to continue performing and began taking silks classes at Sora Aerial Arts’ Studio. She has now been with Sora Contemporary Circus Co. for almost two years as an aerialist/dancer. Her other performance accomplishments include being with Allegro dance project for 3 seasons and a member of Blackbird dance theatre Sr. Company for 3 years. Her other hobbies include acting, dressing up and playing with makeup!
